JM NavigatorPrivacy Policy
Applies to the JM Navigator mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android and to the jmnavigator.cz website. Effective 2 October 2026.

- The app requires no account or registration.
- The app contains no ads, no analytics and no cross-app tracking.
- We run no servers that the app sends anything to. Your location, routes and flight log stay on your device.
- The website measures visits only if you consent.

The JM Navigator app
Location
GPS location is processed only on your device: for the map, airspace warnings, navigation, nearest airports and the flight log. The app asks for “While Using the App” location access.
If you start a flight recording yourself, the app also reads location in the background until you end the recording. The system indicator is shown the whole time. Without an open recording the app does not read location in the background.
We do not send your location anywhere. The only exception is when you add your own position to a route as a waypoint. Route point coordinates are then part of the terrain elevation and wind requests described below.
Data stored on the device
Routes, aircraft, the flight log with its position track, settings and downloaded aviation data are stored only in the app’s storage on your device. They may be included in your device backup depending on your system settings. Deleting the app deletes them. Files you share from the app (GPX, JSON) leave the device only when and where you send them.
Third-party services
Some features send a request directly from your device to a data provider. The request contains no name, e-mail or device identifier. The provider does see your IP address, as with any internet connection.

Subscription and payments
Purchase, renewal and cancellation are handled entirely by the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). We receive no payment details and no account details. The app only verifies a signed entitlement on your device. The store operator gives us aggregate sales reports with no data about individual people.
Permissions
The app asks for location access. On Android it also asks for the notification permission, because flight recording with the screen locked runs as a service with a visible notification. On Android the app does not request always-on background location access. It does not use the microphone, camera, contacts, photos or the advertising identifier.
Android version
The Android version handles data the same way as the iPhone and iPad version: no account, no ads, no analytics, and location and records stay on the device. While a flight recording is open, location is read with a visible “Záznam letu běží” (flight recording running) notification. The base map (Google Maps SDK), place search, location (Google Play services) and payments (Google Play) are provided by Google under Google’s privacy policy. The app does not use the advertising ID.
The jmnavigator.cz website
The hosting provider logs standard technical data for each visit (IP address, time, requested page, browser type) for security and operation, based on our legitimate interest. Fonts and scripts are served from our own domain only.
Without your consent the website stores no cookies and loads no measurement tools. If measurement is enabled, the site asks on your first visit and you choose: analytics (Google Analytics 4, Google Ireland Ltd.) and marketing measurement (Google Ads, Google Ireland Ltd.; Meta Pixel, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.; Sklik, Seznam.cz, a.s.). The legal basis is your consent, which you can change at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, shown whenever measurement is enabled. Data may be processed outside the EU under standard contractual clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Google Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months.
If you e-mail us, we process your address and message in order to reply (legitimate interest) and keep the messages for at most 2 years after the last contact. If you asked to be told when the app is released, we use your address for that notice only.
Children
The app and the website are not directed at children and we do not knowingly process children’s data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, the right to object and the right to withdraw consent. Write to support@jmnavigator.cz; we reply within one month.
App data exists only on your device, so we cannot hand it over or delete it for you. Delete the app to delete it.
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the Czech Republic it is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7.
